This past year the Brent Thurman Foundation moved our event to Bastrop, Texas and I’m
happy to say that with our move to Bastrop, we had our most successful year to date! With that success in mind, it is with
a great sense of pride and humility that I address you, the sponsors and friends, that have enabled the Brent Thurman Foundation
to present the Brent Thurman Memorial PBR Bull Riding year after year. |
Each year presents us with challenges that we
have to meet head on and this past year was no exception. Even though we closed the door to one venue, we opened another that
we were extremely happy with. In times like these, I realize just how many people our Brent touched with his life, either
by knowing him or from the love and goodwill observed at our event each year. Your willingness to keep this event going reflects
the continuation of Brent’s fight to help those who are less fortunate and often over-looked in today’s society.
We are very proud to announce to all that last year three charities were recipients of donations because of your kindness;
Special Olympics Area 13, Marbridge Ranch, and the Austin State School. They have a wonderful time at the Exceptional
Rodeo and are so appreciative of their donations. |
We are very pleased that the 11th Annual Brent Thurman Memorial Bull Riding will again be held in Bastrop, Texas
at the Bastrop Homecoming Arena Complex with the Exceptional Rodeo starting at 6:00 p.m. and the PBR Bull Riding starting
at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2009. This will be our third year of Junior Bull Riding competition. Bryce Cooper
and Dow Farrell, who head up this event have donated all proceeds each year from this event to go towards the Brent Thurman
Foundation fund, enabling another charity to receive donations from our organization. Thank you, Bryce and Dow and everyone
involved with this event! The Brent Thurman Junior Bull Riding will be held at the Bastrop Arena on Friday June 12,
2009, at 7:30 p.m. This event has proven to be a great kick off to the main event. Our foundation feels that our
move to this arena has indeed taken us back to the fun loving “Brent Thurman” cowboy family reunion atmosphere
even more than we had anticipated. We are hopeful that all those involved were as happy and satisfied with our decision,
as we were. |
We sincerely hope that you can be a part of
the Brent Thurman Memorial PBR Bull Riding. We will always strive to please each and every one of our sponsors and improve
this event every year that we have your support. Thank you so very much for your consideration, your heart and your
friendship. We shall always remember your kindness. |
